Aims to transform public spaces in Albania into technological hubs for children, young people and the community in general. The incubators are vessels to enhance children’s and young people’s digital literacy, safety and contribute to also narrow the inter-generational gap between their parents and themselves.
How many BioblioTechs, and where to find them?
- 4 existing public libraries, namely “Hamit Beqja”, “Musine Kokalari”, “Misto Treska” and “Aleksandër Moisiu”, in Tirana
- “Qendra Atelie” in Shkodra
- “Biblioteka Thimi Mitko” in Korca
as functional incubators for children and young people passionate about Information and Communication Technology.
The six libraries have expanded the map of the Friendly WiFi” areas in Albania protecting children and young people from adult pornography and child sexual abuse materials. Throughout the development of the initiative, the focus is on informing and raising awareness of children and parents that they can navigate safely online in the premises of the libraries.
“BiblioTech” also facilitates the organization of information sessions, workshops and technology facilitated activities for children and the community on digital literacy, safety, information technologies, startups, etc.
