Did you know that since 2004, October has been considered Cyber Security Awareness Month?
The initiative was launched by the US National Cyber Security Alliance and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a broad effort to help all Americans stay safer online.
18 years ago, Cyber Security Awareness Month focused on tips like: Updating your antivirus software twice a year or changing the batteries in your smoke alarms.
During the years 2009-2018, the main motto has been "Our shared responsibility". The theme reflected the role that all of us—from large enterprises to individual computer users—have in securing and controlling digital assets.
