ASDO Joins Berlin Founders Program to Empower Entrepreneurs in Albania and the Balkans
November 17, 2024In the second week of November, ASDO proudly joined the international peer-learning event, “Protecting and Empowering Migrants and Children: From Local Action to Advocacy in International Fora” held in Berlin from November 10 to 16, 2024. Hosted by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and facilitated by GIZ under the Global Programme “Shaping Development-Oriented Migration” (MEG), the event brought together civil society organizations from around the world to collaborate on empowering migrants and children in vulnerable situations.
The five-day program addressed key topics such as tackling exploitation in care migration and precarious work, strengthening the voices of civil society organizations in global forums like GFMD and IMRF, and enhancing support for vulnerable communities. ASDO contributed insights from Albania and the Western Balkans, participating in workshops and discussions on gender, migration, and care work. Collaborative sessions encouraged organizations to exchange ideas, identify challenges, and craft innovative solutions, emphasizing the power of global partnerships and coordinated advocacy.
ASDO’s participation highlighted the significance of building strong networks, equipping vulnerable groups with resources and support, and creating long-term strategies to tackle systemic issues.
ASDO remains committed to applying the knowledge gained to advance its mission of protecting migrants and children while fostering meaningful change locally and globally.
