National Expert/Trainer

The consultant will develop and provide training programs for youth and children in the selected cities, with a focus on strengthening digital knowledge. The general purpose of the trainings will be to increase digital skills and competences among children and young people, through experiences and innovative methodologies and learning practices, simultaneously addressing the needs of security and protection of personal data. In addition, the consultant will design training modules and materials tailored for the 8-18 age-group based on previously identified needs and gaps in children and youth ICT education. The objective of the consultancy is to support the Albania Center for Sustainable Development in the planning, organizing, and conducting trainings in the aforementioned areas of information and communication technology and personal data protection. This includes conducting seminars/workshops, conducting training, identifying appropriate training development methodologies, designing materials and presentations, and facilitating training sessions.

The consultant is expected to:

• Design the overall structure and content of the training sessions
• Identify appropriate training development methods
• Ensure that the content and format of the training sessions match the requirements of the participants
• Develop the necessary methods and tools for providing training in the most effective way
• Design necessary supporting materials for the training (eg, production of presentations, evaluation forms on the acquired knowledge or training quality, production of games and case studies) to ensure successful training development

The consultant will be responsible for the production of the following deliverables:

• Curriculum content
• Complete agenda of the training
• Training materials
• List of other panelists who can support the trainer/training
• Training evaluation forms
• Training report including assessment and recommendations for the training needs identified in each city.
• Surveys on the knowledge assessment before and after the training

The structure and content of the training will be developed for the target audience of children and young people, still it should at least include:

• Provision of knowledge, theoretical concepts
• Provision of the tools, resources and approaches appropriate for the topic offered
• Group exercises based on a case study
• Exchange of practices and examples

Required qualification and experience:

Education

• To have completed Master studies in information technology sciences or teaching ones in the field of information technology at an accredited academic institution
• Holding a Doctor of Science degree in the relevant field is preferred
• Holding a Master degree in social sciences/psychology or/ and training in the field is preferred

Experience and skills

• Experience in performing similar tasks or participating in the delivery of similar trainings in the recent years.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in the field of information and communication technology such as building a website, in various programming languages such as python etc.
• Expertise in designing curricula and providing innovative training methods and methodologies
• Experience in working with children and young people
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Previous experience of working in the design of training curricula for children and young people
• Excellence in the production of training materials, and the presentation of knowledge to children and young people
